Is there a certain distance from the KCVA campus I need to be to qualify?
The permanent address of a guest must be more than 50 miles from the KCVA campus, located at 4801 Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, MO, 64128
Does the Veteran have to be a VA patient for his or her family to stay at Fisher House Kansas City?
The Veteran must be receiving services from the VA or authorized by the VA to receive Care in the Community.
There are exceptions, contact us if you have questions.
Is there assistance for the guests?
Fisher House Kansas City guests must be capable of self-care and be independent in activities of daily living.
What is expected from the guests?
Guests must be actively involved in Veteran’s daily treatment plan and provide ongoing support during episode of care.
How many people can stay in a room?
One room per family per Veteran with max of 4 occupants is the allowed number of guests.
Is there a limit to how long I can stay?
All requests will require a length of stay recommendation from the treatment team.
